Over the holidays, nine ACG Parnell College Year 11 students competed in the North Island final of the Brain Bee competition. This competition sees students learn about the areas of the brain, disorders of the brain, and how the brain controls and influences our bodies. The students had an eventful day competing against schools from across the North Island and also had tours around the University of Auckland medical laboratories and campus.
Kai Guo placed first overall in the Individual Competition by a considerable margin and will now go on to compete in Australia in the Australasian final later in the year.
Kai Guo, William Xu, Annie Gui and Anusha Ramachandran placed third in the Teams competition after a tight and exciting finals round against Westlake Girls, Mount Albert Grammar and St Cuthbert’s.
A fantastic effort by all involved!
