Felix Xie attended the 2019 CTCA International Chess Open at Kauhsiung, Taiwan from 17 to 25 July 2019 on behalf of New Zealand Junior Chess team.  He won two gold medals at U11 level in both Standard and Blize games.

During the school holiday, Ethan Zhang represented the New Zealand team at the Asian Junior Chess Championship in Indonesia.  He was one of the youngest players at the tournament.  He had some good games and learned a lot from many top young chess players in the world.
