On Monday 27th August, our two Year Six classes were privileged to attend a Chinese Culture Day trip hosted by ACG Strathallan. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by a range of speeches and performances, including lion dancing and guzheng music. After the Executive Principal of Strathallan, Mr O’Connor, gave his address, students commenced a day-long rotation of Chinese cultural activities run by visiting experts. The activities included Chinese calligraphy, knot-making, Tai Chi and various art projects. The day concluded with a parting address by Mrs Shapcott, the Primary Principal and a speech by Parnell student representatives, Zoe Hooten and Jason Liu, who addressed the audience in Chinese. The experience was greatly appreciated by all our year sixes who enjoyed collaborating and interacting with the Strathallan students.
