The Languages Department is very pleased with the results of the 2018 IGCSE Mandarin Chinese (Foreign Language) examination. Six students took part In the examination: one of them gained an A and the other five gained A*, with Tessa Barker scoring 97%, the highest mark in the group. The results are very encouraging as all students but one are non-native speakers of Chinese and the student of Chinese descent has mainly studied in non-Chinese speaking countries. All the students worked well and truly deserved their very pleasing results. This also shows that non-native speakers CAN EXCEL in this ancient language. Congratulations!
