With increased media coverage about the Corona virus, we are mindful that you may wish to be reminded of the precautions we are taking at the school to ensure the continued well -being of pupils and teachers. The advice we are following is both from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local government bodies. Based on the current evidence from WHO there is no immediate cause for concern at ACG Parnell College. Precautions already in place include:
- not accepting any pupils or visitors from China without a quarantine process
- habitual hand washing and using hand sanitisers as a precaution
- all staff briefed on the signs and symptoms of the Coronavirus
Please note the period of quarantine for travellers returning from affected countries is 14 days and the World Health Organisation has updated the list of counties where the incidence of the virus is most active. If you are travelling or have friends or family who are visiting from overseas, please do ensure you are up to date with latest information on these destinations. Medical approvals continue to be required should any children, staff, parents or visitors wish to come to school if quarantine has been applied or they have returned from a high-risk country. It is essential at all times that everybody respects these rules in order to minimize risks.
The advice we are following is regularly updated and you may also wish to follow these updates on the Ministry of Health website which offers sensible and unbiased information to anyone who may be concerned.
We will continue to provide you with regular updates and want to reassure you that we are taking all precautions to minimise impact to our pupils and teachers.
