This week we have commenced our options process for students moving into Years 11, 12 and 13 in 2020. At this time we want students to get their heads up and think about their futures – pathways, qualifications and future dreams. Most importantly, I hope that this process causes conversations in your home about the way forward and what life in the future may hold.
It does take time for conversations and thought processes to build a head of steam. To help this, our annual course planning evening will be held at ACG Parnell College on Wednesday 5 June from 6.00pm to 8.00pm in the Titoki Street Gym.
The purpose of the evening is to give Year 10, 11 and 12 students and parents information about the pathways to university that will be offered by the College from 2019, namely Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB). In addition, the evening should assist students to design a course which will best help them to achieve their short and long term goals.
The format of the evening is that of a drop-in clinic – representatives from various NZ universities and teachers of Years 11-13 courses will be available to answer questions.
I also want to remind you that option booklets are available on MyACG in Parnell College Course.
ACG has an expert University Advisor as part of our staff, Guy Mills, who is available to meet with students or families. If an overseas university is in future plans then I would strongly recommend a meeting with Guy. Please email him on email@example.com to book a time.
