Little Leaf is a company run by Year 13 students Angela Wang and Emily Zeng as a part of the Young Enterprise Scheme. Our aim this year was to create a new product and one that would be exciting to develop. We came up with the idea of Vegan Bubble Tea, seeing as the popularity of Bubble tea has skyrocketed within the past few years. Throughout our experience with Young Enterprise, we’ve learnt a lot about what it takes to manage a business and how to do it together. After submitting many tasks and challenges as well as doing a pitch and completing our Annual Review at the end of September, Little Leaf was in the Top 10 teams of our region, meaning that we had qualified for and were to compete at regionals on Wednesday 31 October. Again, we were able to pitch to 3 judges our business idea and model, and found ourselves in the top 5 teams of the night, as well as winning the regional award for ‘Excellence in Food and Beverages’. We are so grateful to have had this unique opportunity and were helped along the way by Mrs Hawthorn, Mrs McAtee, Ms Thompson and our YES co-ordinators, who are all to be thanked for their efforts and guidance.
